01 Next To The Stage

The band show up and throw down out the back of a truck for an unexpecting audience. Meg and Pat busk on the street and bemoan their limited performing options. They see a poster for the upcoming Cherry Festival; the coveted festival where all the good bands play in the area. Deep Southwest form a plan to get seen by the promoters to ultimately sing on the big festival stage. SONGS – Banditos & Love, Love Again

02 Deep Southwest Tries

With their mission of Cherry fest glory in mind, the band tries to earn a spot to play but unforeseen obstacles stand in their way. They enlist their friends Buck and Spencer for help as they navigate the interwebs and learn the hard way what it takes to be a musician in a ticky tocky society. 03 Shake It If You Have It

Auditions, spray tans, botox and fancy tractors. Deep Southwest tries it all in the hopes of upping their visibility. Meg feels a little long in the tooth and Pat reminds her why he fell in love. Buck takes over the band’s social media as an unofficial official band manager and sets up a campaign to win over the festival promoters. SONG – Fishin’ Fer Words

04 Deep Southwest Give Up

The band’s insta account is going nowhere – dog food is expensive – three person parties aren’t paying bills. Meg and Pat call it quits after attending a meeting of ‘Artist Anonymous – where dreams go to die’. ‘Cause what’s the point? They find other work that includes becoming security guards and delivering singing telegrams. A chance encounter with a young fan changes their minds and reminds them why they play music. 05 Pat Becomes A Drunk

Pat tries Bucks bathtub whiskey and decides to go pro. He holds up residence at a local bar called “The Central” and drinks his day away telling big fish stories about his conquests. The community decides to join him in drinking whiskey and all production stops in the small town. Meg wonders where everyone is and goes searching for Pat. Her plea falls on deaf ears so she asks for Spencer’s help to blow up the bar. Pat returns to his normal self. The band plays on. SONGS – No Whiskey Left In Texas & Rockstar

06 Game Faces

The band visits other bands’ who are promised spots in the festival line up and asks them to let them play with them. When that doesn’t work they visit the promoter and make their case. SONGS – Favorite Place & Still Dat Hoe 

07 Deep Southwest Fails

It’s the big festival day. Still hopeful, the band makes their way to the stage hoping their efforts have not been unnoticed. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough to earn them a spot to play. Deflated Meg and Pat share some roasted corn and lick their wounds. Buck is deep into a cute cat video when his truck smashed into the stage and sound system at the festival. Power outage and chaos ensues. Cherry fest is ruined and can’t continue. Deep southwest steps in to save the day – by holding a concert in the middle of a head lighted truck stage. The whole community celebrates by rallying together to set up this impromptu party. All musicians band together and play as community members mingle and dance.
